All exam rooms are equipped with the necessities for a complete and thorough evaluation of your pet.  We do our very best to provide a stress free visit by offering a variety of treats, calming pheromone diffusers, and other tools to help keep your pet relaxed during their exam.

The hospital has 2 additional exam rooms designed for cats and small dogs.   Here, Dr. Chastain examines a cat in one of these rooms.  Please let us know, if your pet has any special needs during your visit.  Our staff strives to make your pet's visit as comfortable as possible.

We utilize a digital radiology (x-ray) system.  X-rays can be taken, processed digitally, and shown to pet owners on computer monitors in the exam rooms.  X-rays can also be emailed to specialists for further interpretation and/or care.

For urgent cases, we have the ability to perform complete blood counts, blood chemistries, and urinalysis in the clinic.  This allows for more immediate results, allowing us to implement targeted treatment earlier in the process.

One of our technicians performs a dental cleaning on a patient in our treatment area.  Our dental unit is very similar to the units used in human dentistry.  We perform all dental cleanings under general anesthesia.  In the background you can see our anesthesia monitor keeping track of blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and EKG.  All pets are also placed IV fluids during their anesthesia to help maintain blood pressure and aid in their body's metabolism and elimination of the anesthetic agents.  Do not hesitate to ask a doctor or technician any questions you might have about the dental services we offer.

The treatment area can be a very busy hub in the hospital during the day.  This is where we perform dental cleanings, laceration repairs, blood sample collection and many other procedures.

We perform routine spays and neuters as well as a variety of other sterile surgical procedures in this area.  Your pet's anesthesia will be monitored by a trained technician, and specialized monitoring equipment is also utilized to keep a close eye on their anesthetic depth.  All surgical patients have an IV catheter placed and receive IV fluids and other medications as needed to ensure their safety and comfort during and after anesthesia.  Because core body temperature can drop during anesthesia, their temperature is monitored continuously and patients are actively warmed using a warm water circulating heating pad, warm towels, and warmed IV fluids.

Cats can be hospitalized in "Cat Condos," which are located in a separate room away from dogs.  These special cages provide a window to view the outside world and ledges for perching.
